Biography
Raffaele La Capria (3 October 1922 – 26 June 2022) was an Italian novelist and screenwriter. Born in Naples, he graduated in law there before living in France, England and the United States and settling in Rome.
He contributed to the cultural pages of Corriere della Sera and co-directed the literary journal Nuovi Argomenti. His novel Ferito a morte (1961) won the Strega Prize. La Capria wrote screenplays for several films directed by Francesco Rosi, including Hands Over the City (1963), More Than a Miracle (1967), Many Wars Ago (1970) and Christ Stopped at Eboli (1979).
