Biography
Ranibala was a Bengali actress and singer who appeared in Indian films from the silent era through the 1960s. She entered cinema in the early 1930s and performed in both leading and supporting roles, often drawing on her stage experience and singing voice for musical sequences.
She is credited as Teliginni in Satyajit Ray's Aparajito (1956) and as Giribala Dutta in his Parash Pathar (1958). Her other film credits include The Light of Asia (1925) and numerous titles from the 1930s and 1940s.
She died in 1956.
