Biography

Regina Bätz, also credited as Regine Bätz, is a German costume designer. Born on 6 January 1944, she completed a tailoring apprenticeship and attended a fashion school before beginning work as a costume assistant in 1968. She advanced to costume designer four years later.

Bätz has designed costumes for numerous German television films and series, as well as some feature films, particularly in the 1980s. Her credits include the series Heimat (1984), Bagdad Cafe (1987) and Sugarbaby (1985). She has worked with directors such as Edgar Reitz and Percy Adlon, and contributed to multiple episodes of the Tatort crime series.

She continued working into the 2000s and early 2010s on projects including Heimat Fragments: The Women (2006) before retiring.
