Biography

René Manzor, born René Lalanne, is a French film and television director and screenwriter. He trained at the École supérieure de réalisation audiovisuelle (ESRA) in Paris and began his career with short films, including the award-winning Synapses (1981). His first feature, Le Passage (1986), starred Alain Delon.

Manzor is known for directing 3615 code Père Noël (1990), also released as Dial Code Santa Claus or Deadly Games, Un amour de sorcière (1997) and Dédales (2003). He contributed the screenplay for Highlander III: The Sorcerer (1994) and directed episodes of Highlander: The Series and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. He has also written several novels, including the award-winning thriller Celui dont le nom n’est plus (2014). He is the brother of musicians Francis Lalanne and Jean-Félix Lalanne.
