Biography
Ric Waite (1933–2012) was an American cinematographer. He began his career as a still photographer in New York before moving to Los Angeles in 1970, where he worked initially in television on series such as Emergency! and Police Story, and on several television films.
His feature film debut as director of photography was The Long Riders (1980). Among his subsequent credits were 48 Hrs. (1982), Footloose (1984), Red Dawn (1984), Cobra (1986) and Adventures in Babysitting (1987). Waite received four Emmy nominations for his television work and won one for the 1976 miniseries Captains and the Kings.
