Biography
Riccardo Zinna (18 May 1958 – 20 September 2018) was an Italian actor, theatre director and composer. Born in Naples, he studied at the Liceo artistico and the Accademia di belle arti di Napoli under Augusto Perez, and trained in music at the Conservatorio Licinio Refice in Frosinone. From 1975 he worked in theatre and music, appearing in productions with actors including Paolo Bonacelli, Renato Carpentieri, Victor Cavallo, Marina Confalone and Toni Servillo.
In film he appeared in titles directed by Nanni Moretti, Francesca Archibugi, Daniele Luchetti, Matteo Garrone and others. His credits include Caro diario (1993), I'm Not Scared (2003), Gomorrah (2008), Welcome to the South (2010) as the vigile urbano, and Siberian Education (2013). He also worked in television, including episodes of The Sopranos and Father Matteo. Zinna composed music and directed theatre pieces; he died in Naples.
