Biography
Richard Long (born Richard McCord Long) was an American actor. He made his film debut in Tomorrow Is Forever (1946) and appeared the same year as Noah Longstreet in The Stranger. Early screen roles also included The Dark Mirror (1946), The Egg and I (1947) and several entries in the Ma and Pa Kettle series.
Long achieved wider recognition on television. He played Jarrod Barkley in the ABC western series The Big Valley (1965–1969) and Professor Harold Everett in the sitcom Nanny and the Professor (1970–1972). He also appeared regularly in Bourbon Street Beat and in one season of 77 Sunset Strip.
Long served in the US Army during the Korean War. He died in Los Angeles in 1974.
