Biography
Richard Moore was an American cinematographer. He graduated with a degree in cinema from the University of Southern California and began his career shooting documentaries and travelogues before co-founding Panavision with Robert Gottschalk in 1953. He left the company after nine years to work as a director of photography.
Moore's cinematography credits include The Wild Angels (1966), The Scalphunters (1968), The Reivers (1969), WUSA (1970), Sometimes a Great Notion (1971), The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean (1972), The Stone Killer (1973) and Annie (1982). He also directed Circle of Iron (1978). He received a scientific and engineering award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the American Society of Cinematographers President's Award.
