Biography
Richard Wilson is a British-born Australian actor. Born in Leicester, England, he moved to Sydney, Australia, at the age of six. He began his screen career at fifteen in the 2001 sitcom Flat Chat and received an Australian Film Institute Award nomination for Best Young Actor for his role in the series Out There (2003–2004).
Wilson made his feature film debut in Deck Dogz (2005) and appeared as Mike Burns in The Proposition (2005). He played leading roles in 48 Shades (2006) and The Loved Ones (2010), and appeared in McLeod's Daughters (2001–2002). He received Australian Film Institute and Film Critics Circle of Australia nominations for his performance in Clubland (2007) and won a FilmInk Award for Best Australian Newcomer. Wilson took a break from acting around 2009 to pursue further studies.
