Biography
Rick Russell is a British film and television editor. He graduated in drama from Hull University and worked in theatre before taking a filmmaking course. He began his editing career as an assistant at The Film Editors in London in 1989 and founded the editing company Final Cut in 1995, later opening offices in New York and Los Angeles.
Russell has edited feature films including 44 Inch Chest (2009), Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013) and Tulip Fever (2017). His television credits include episodes of Tin Star, Becoming Elizabeth (2022) and Shardlake (2024). He has also edited numerous commercials and won a Gold Lion at Cannes Lions for the Apple "Barbers" spot.
