Biography
Rita Roland was a German-born film editor. Born Rita Victoria Rosenstein in Berlin on 5 October 1914, she began her career editing films in Europe before the Second World War. She later moved to Hollywood, where she worked extensively for MGM and edited numerous feature films and television productions.
Her credits include A Patch of Blue (1965), Spinout (1966), Resurrection (1980) and Fort Apache, the Bronx (1981). She also edited the television miniseries Sybil (1976) and received an Emmy Award for her work on Eleanor and Franklin: The White House Years (1977). Roland was married to producer-director Heinz Josephson and later to writer-director Henry Martin. She died in Los Angeles on 17 August 1998.
