Biography
Robert Cawdron (29 December 1921 – 14 September 1997) was a French-born British film and television actor. He appeared in supporting roles from the late 1940s until the early 1980s, frequently cast as police officers or other authority figures.
He is known for his performance as Robboe in the 1960 film Saturday Night and Sunday Morning. Other film credits include Stage Fright (1950), A King in New York (1957), Captain Horatio Hornblower R.N. (1951) and The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (1970). On television he had a long-running role as Detective Inspector Cherry in Dixon of Dock Green (1955–1965) and appeared in series including Doctor Who (as Taltalian), The Avengers, The Saint and The Persuaders!.
