Biography
Robert Drivas was an American actor and theatre director. He made his film debut as Loudmouth Steve in Cool Hand Luke (1967). He appeared in other films including The Illustrated Man (1969), Where It's At (1969), Road Movie (1974) and God Told Me To (1976), and had guest roles in television series such as The Fugitive, The Wild Wild West, Hawaii Five-O and The Streets of San Francisco.
Drivas began his career on stage, making his New York debut in 1958 in The Firstborn. He performed in productions including One More River (1960), The Wall (1960), The Irregular Verb to Love (1963) and And Things That Go Bump in the Night (1965), which he also directed. He won a Theatre World Award for Mrs. Dally Has a Lover (1963) and an Obie Award for directing Bad Habits. His directing credits include The Ritz (1975) by Terrence McNally. He died in 1986.
