Biography
Robert Falcon Scott (1868–1912) was a British naval officer and Antarctic explorer. He led the Discovery expedition of 1901–1904 and the Terra Nova expedition of 1910–1913, reaching the South Pole in January 1912 before perishing with his companions on the return journey.
Archive footage of Scott from the Terra Nova expedition appears in the 1924 documentary The Great White Silence, directed by Herbert Ponting, in which he is credited as Self. The film compiles Ponting's cinematography from the expedition.
