Biography
Robert-Jules Garnier (1883–1958) was a French production designer and art director. He began his career as a theatre set decorator before moving into film around 1909, working primarily at Gaumont studios.
He is best known for his long collaboration with director Louis Feuillade on silent serials including The Vampires or, The Arch Criminals of Paris (1915), Judex (1916) and Barrabas (1919). Garnier continued working into the sound era on films such as Antoine & Antoinette (1947) and Rendezvous in July (1949), with his final credit in 1950.
