Biography

Robin Mukherjee is a British screenwriter, author and educator. He has written extensively for British television, contributing multiple episodes to series including Casualty (1990–2007), The Bill (1990–1991) and EastEnders (1990–2005). His other television credits include Grushko (1994), Plastic Man (1999) and Roman Mysteries (2008).

Mukherjee's feature films are Dance of the Wind (1997), which premiered at the Venice Film Festival and won the audience prize at the London Film Festival, and Lore (2012), an adaptation that won the Australian Writers' Guild Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and was Australia's official entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2012 Academy Awards. He created the BAFTA-nominated CBBC series Combat Kids (2010). Mukherjee has also written radio dramas, a novel and the screenwriting manual The Art of Screenplays: A Writer's Guide (2014). He is Course Director of the MA Scriptwriting programme at Bath Spa University.
