Biography
Roger Richebé (3 December 1897 – 10 July 1989) was a French film director, producer and screenwriter. Born in Marseille, he entered the industry through his father's cinema exhibition business and began producing films in 1930 in partnership with Pierre Braunberger.
Their company produced La Chienne (1931), directed by Jean Renoir, as well as other early sound films. In 1933 Richebé established his own production company, Les Films Roger Richebé, which made around forty films. He directed some fifteen features, including L'Habit vert (1937), La Tradition de Minuit (1939), Madame Sans-Gêne (1941) and Romance à trois (1942). He also wrote the screenplay for and co-directed Austerlitz (1960).
