Biography
Roger Souza is a French actor, director and screenwriter. Born on 2 March 1942 in Toulouse, he trained at the cours d'art dramatique de Mirès Vincent in his home city before moving to Paris in 1961 to study at the Cours Simon.
He began appearing in films in the 1970s and is known for supporting roles including Ange, the hydrant man, in Jean de Florette (1986) and Manon of the Spring (1986), the Manager in The Vanishing (1988), and clerks in Marius (2013) and Fanny (2013). He has also worked extensively in French television and theatre, collaborating with directors such as Gildas Bourdet and Roger Planchon, and has directed short films.
