Biography
Roger Swaybill was an American screenwriter and novelist. Born in New York City, he wrote the screenplay for the 1981 film Porky's and co-wrote its 1983 sequel Porky's II: The Next Day. He also wrote the teleplay for the 1980 PBS television film The Lathe of Heaven, which received a Writers Guild of America nomination, and contributed to the 1976 film Breaking Point.
Swaybill graduated from the Bronx High School of Science and Yale University in 1964. He began his career in film as an assistant to director Stanley Kramer on Ship of Fools (1965) and later worked at United Artists. He published two novels, Threads and Final Witness, and wrote for television series including Salty.
Swaybill was married to Marion Lear Swaybill. He died in New York City in 1991 at the age of 47.
