Biography
Ron Highfield was a New Zealand production designer and art director. He worked on landmark 1970s television productions including Pukemanu and The God Boy before contributing to the New Zealand feature film renaissance of the 1980s and 1990s.
His credits include production design on Utu (1983) and Came a Hot Friday (1985), as well as The Shrimp on the Barbie (1990). He received a New Zealand Film and Television Award for best production design for The End of the Golden Weather (1991) and a nomination for The Last Tattoo (1994). Highfield also worked on the Lawless television films and as senior art director on the Australian feature Young Einstein (1988).
He died on 10 October 2022.
