Biography
Sajid Khan (28 December 1951 – 22 December 2023) was an Indian actor and singer. Born in Bombay (now Mumbai), he was discovered as a child from the city's slums and cast as the young Birju in Mehboob Khan's Mother India (1957). He was later adopted by the director and his wife.
Khan appeared in a small number of Indian films, including the title role in Son of India (1962). He found greater success in international productions, with roles in the American film and television series Maya (1966), an episode of The Big Valley (1965), and Heat and Dust (1983). He was active as an actor until the early 1980s and later worked in the jewellery business.
