Biography
Sam Allen (25 December 1861 – 13 September 1934) was an American actor. He began his career on the stage in 1880 and moved into film work with Biograph in New York in 1910.
He appeared in around 18 features between 1921 and 1930. Allen is noted for his role as Uncle Hughey in The Virginian (1923). His other credits include The Gold Rush (1925) as Man in Dance Hall (uncredited), The Sea Beast (1926), Death Valley (1927) and The Sea Wolf (1930). He also founded a brewery and a hotel complex.
