Biography

Samantha Strauss is an Australian screenwriter and television producer. She grew up in Gold Coast, Queensland, and studied film and television at Bond University after training in ballet.

Strauss co-created and served as head writer on the ABC teen drama series Dance Academy (2010–2013), which aired in over 160 countries and won multiple Logie Awards. Her other credits include writing for H2O: Just Add Water (2006), The New Legends of Monkey (2018), Nine Perfect Strangers (2021) and creating the series The End (2020) and the Netflix limited series Apple Cider Vinegar (2025).

She is a co-founder of the production company Picking Scabs, a joint venture with See-Saw Films, and has received Logie Awards and an International Emmy nomination.
