Biography
Samuel Bischoff was an American film producer. Born on 11 August 1890 in Hartford, Connecticut, he graduated from Boston University and began his career in 1922 producing comedy shorts, including early Stan Laurel work. He later headed his own low-budget production company and worked as a supervising producer at Columbia Pictures.
In 1932 he moved to Warner Bros., where he produced several features including Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) and The Roaring Twenties (1939). He returned to Columbia in 1941 and later worked at RKO before rejoining Warner Bros. in the 1950s. His final film was The Strangler (1964). Bischoff died on 21 May 1975 in Hollywood, California.
