Biography
Sandra Hernandez is a costume designer. Her film credits include Save the Last Dance (2001), He Got Game (1998), 25th Hour (2002), The Secret Life of Bees (2008), Beyond the Lights (2014) and A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints (2006). She has also worked on television series such as Queen Sugar.
She graduated with a degree in communications and began her career with an internship at Spike Lee’s 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks. She served as assistant to costume designer Ruth Carter before heading the costume department for several Lee productions. Hernandez has collaborated repeatedly with director Gina Prince-Bythewood.
