Biography
Sarah Williams is a British screenwriter and producer. She began her career in television in 1991 as a researcher and documentary producer before moving into drama production and then screenwriting.
Williams is known for her adaptations of novels for television, including co-writing the screenplay for the 2009 BBC series Small Island with Paula Milne. She co-wrote the 2007 feature film Becoming Jane and adapted Poppy Shakespeare (2008) and The Long Song (2018). She has also created original series such as Flesh and Blood (2020) and Outrageous (2025). Her work on Poppy Shakespeare and Small Island earned Writers' Guild of Great Britain Award nominations.
