Biography
Satoshi Fukushima (福島聡司) is a Japanese film producer. Born in 1961 in Nemuro, Hokkaido, he graduated from the Yokohama Film and Broadcasting Vocational School (now Japan Film University), founded by director Shohei Imamura. He began working in production on The Ballad of Narayama (1983) and made his debut as a producer on Sanctuary (1995).
Fukushima has worked on numerous films, often as producer or line producer. His credits include Audition (2000), the Ju-on/The Grudge series (2004–2006), Shutter (2008), several Rurouni Kenshin films (2014, 2021), and Kubi (2023). He co-founded Fellow Pictures and has been involved in international co-productions. He serves on the board of the Japan Film and Television Producers Association.
