Biography
Sławomir Lindner (8 May 1913 – 18 March 1982) was a Polish actor, theatre director and pedagogue. He trained as an infantry officer before the Second World War, serving in the defence of the Hel Peninsula and later as a prisoner of war in Oflag II C Woldenberg, where he took part in camp theatre. He obtained full acting qualifications in 1947 and subsequently appeared in numerous Warsaw theatres, including the Teatr Polski and Teatr Klasyczny.
Lindner worked as an actor, assistant director, choreographer and fencing instructor. In 1960 he served as consultant on fencing and horsemanship for the film Krzyżacy. He is known for his role as Van Worden's father in The Saragossa Manuscript (1965) and appeared in other films including Bariera (1966) and Hubal (1973). A posthumous autobiography, Ale serce boli, was published in 1983.
