Biography
Sepp Allgeier (1895–1968) was a German cinematographer. He began his career as a cameraman in 1911 for the Expreß Film Co. of Freiburg and later became an assistant to Arnold Fanck. He specialised in mountain films and worked frequently with Luis Trenker and Leni Riefenstahl.
Allgeier was Riefenstahl's lead cameraman on the propaganda film Triumph of the Will (1935), where he coordinated a team of eighteen cameramen. His other credits include Diary of a Lost Girl (1929). During the Second World War he filmed material for newsreels, and he later worked in West German television. His son Hans-Jörg Allgeier is also a cinematographer.
