Biography
Serge Marquand was a French actor and film producer. Born in Marseille on 12 March 1930, he began his career in the late 1950s and appeared in more than one hundred films and television productions, frequently in supporting roles.
Among his credits are Barbarella (1968), in which he played Captain Sun; Angelique (1964) and Angelique: The Road to Versailles (1965), both as Jactance; Spirits of the Dead (1968); and The Big Red One (1980) as Rensonnet. He also worked as an assistant director and as a producer on films including Le Maître-nageur (1978).
He was the brother of director Nadine Trintignant and actor Christian Marquand. Marquand died in Paris on 4 September 2004.
