Biography
Sergei Yakovlev (Russian: Сергей Яковлев; 1925–1996) was a Soviet and Russian stage, film and television actor. He was born in Kurgan and died in Moscow. He appeared in more than forty films between 1957 and 1992, having begun his career after serving in the Second World War.
Yakovlev is known for his role as Petr Sych, the village elder, in Larisa Shepitko’s The Ascent (1977). Other screen credits include the head of mission control in Air Crew (1980) and a voice role in The Tale of Tsar Saltan (1984). He received the title of People’s Artist of the RSFSR in 1985.
