Biography
Sergei Yevtushenko is a Russian composer, conductor and music producer from Saint Petersburg. He has been a member of the Composers' Union of Russia since 1990. He served as professor at the St Petersburg Conservatoire and Special Music School, and from 1990 directed the Camerata St Petersburg Orchestra, later the Orchestra of the State Hermitage Museum. In 1997 he became director of the Hermitage Music Academy Charity Foundation, and since 2001 has been artistic director of its programme and of international music festivals at the State Hermitage Museum.
Yevtushenko composed the score for Alexander Sokurov's Russian Ark (2002). His other film credits include Raja 1918 (2007), for which he was nominated for a Jussi Award for Best Music, and The Last Station (2009).
