Biography
Shaandiin Tome is a Diné filmmaker, director and cinematographer based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She graduated with a BFA in film and digital media production from the University of New Mexico in 2015.
Her narrative short Mud (Hashtł’ishnii) premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018. She co-directed the short documentary Long Line of Ladies, which premiered at Sundance in 2022 and won the Documentary Shorts Jury Award at SXSW. Tome has also written for the television series Dark Winds (2022).
She has received fellowships including the Sundance Full Circle Fellowship and the Sundance Native Filmmaker’s Lab, and her work has been recognised by the University of New Mexico with the James F. Zimmerman award.
