Biography
Shadrack E. Graham was an American actor and later filmmaker and documentarian. Born in New York City on 24 April 1896 to a family with connections to the stage, he began his association with film as a child actor, appearing uncredited as a child in the pioneering short The Great Train Robbery (1903).
Graham spent five decades working in technical roles for major motion-picture companies in New York and Hollywood. He later established Shad E. Graham Productions and created the Our Home Town series of documentaries on American small towns, particularly in Texas. After the Second World War he moved to Houston, where he served as Texas representative for Twentieth Century Fox Movietone News; his film on the 1947 Texas City disaster received awards. He was a charter member of the Film Editors Guild of New York City and Hollywood.
