Biography
Shalita Grant is an American actress. She was born on 28 August 1988 and raised in Petersburg, Virginia. She attended the Baltimore School for the Arts in Maryland, where she was a YoungArts Winner in Theatre and a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. At 17 she received a scholarship to the Juilliard School, graduating with a B.F.A. in Drama in 2010.
Grant began her career in theatre, originating the role of Cassandra in Christopher Durang’s Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. The production moved to Broadway in 2013, earning her a Tony Award nomination for Featured Actress in a Play and a Theatre World Award. On television she is known for the role of Sonja Percy on NCIS: New Orleans (2014–2018) and as Sherry Conrad on You (2021–2025). Other credits include Mercy Street (2016), Santa Clarita Diet (2019), Search Party (2020) and Abbott Elementary (2023).
