Biography
Shani Am. Moore is a television writer. She began her screenwriting career on the Netflix series Sweet Magnolias (2020), where she worked as staff writer and received episode writing credits. Her other produced writing credits include episodes of The Bold Type (2017) and Kingdom Business (2022).
Before becoming a full-time screenwriter, Moore was the first black female head executive at Dolby and worked as a contracts and production lawyer at NBCUniversal. She is a cum laude graduate of Princeton University, UC Berkeley, Stanford Law School and UCLA Extension. She has received fellowships from the Inevitable Foundation (2021) and NBC’s TV Writers Program (2019).
