Biography
Sheila O'Brien (9 October 1902 – 26 January 1983) was an American costume designer. She began her career as a seamstress at Paramount Pictures before moving to the costume department at MGM, where she worked as a dresser on The Wizard of Oz (1939).
O'Brien established herself as a designer in the 1950s. She frequently collaborated with Joan Crawford, providing costumes for The Damned Don't Cry (1950), Sudden Fear (1952, for which she received an Academy Award nomination), Johnny Guitar (1954) and Female on the Beach (1955). Her other credits include Goodbye, My Fancy (1951), The Deadly Companions (1961) and Never Too Late (1965). She was active in the industry from 1939 to 1965.
