Biography
Sheldon Allman (8 June 1924 – 22 January 2002) was an American-Canadian actor, singer and songwriter. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War and later studied at the Los Angeles Conservatory of Music.
Allman appeared in films including Hud (1963) as Mr. Thompson, The Sons of Katie Elder (1965), Nevada Smith (1966) and In Cold Blood (1967). He had numerous television guest roles in series such as The Twilight Zone, Batman and I Dream of Jeannie.
He provided the singing voice for the title character in the sitcom Mister Ed and co-wrote the theme song for the animated series George of the Jungle.
