Biography
Silvia Richards was an American screenwriter. Born Silvia Hope Goodenough in Indianola, Iowa, she attended high school in Colorado Springs, Colorado, before moving to Hollywood to pursue a career in screenwriting.
Her film credits include the screenplay for Secret Beyond the Door (1947), the screenplay for Possessed (1947), the original story for Rancho Notorious (1952) and the screenplay for Ruby Gentry (1952). She also wrote for television series in the 1950s and early 1960s.
Richards was married to screenwriter Robert L. Richards and later to screenwriter A. I. Bezzerides. She testified as a friendly witness before HUAC during the McCarthy era.
