Biography
Simon West (born 17 July 1961) is an English film director and producer. He began his career as an assistant film editor with the BBC, working on dramas and documentaries, before directing commercials and music videos.
West made his feature film debut directing the action thriller Con Air (1997). He has since directed a series of action films including Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), The Mechanic (2011) and The Expendables 2 (2012), as well as The General's Daughter (1999) and When a Stranger Calls (2006).
