Biography
Skip Ward (born Rufus King Ward IV) was an American actor and television producer. He was born on 12 September 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio, and died on 27 June 2003 in Calabasas, California.
Ward began his screen career in the late 1950s with uncredited roles in films including Run Silent, Run Deep (1958). He appeared in supporting parts in The Nutty Professor (1963), Kiss Me, Stupid (1964), The Night of the Iguana (1964), Is Paris Burning? (1966) and Hombre (1967), in which he played Steve Early. He was also credited under the name James Ward in several early roles. Later television work included appearances in series such as Batman (1966), The Rockford Files and Walker, Texas Ranger (1993).
From the 1970s Ward worked increasingly as a producer, serving as associate and supervising producer on The Dukes of Hazzard (1979–1985) and producing later television films in the franchise. He also produced episodes of V (1984–1985) and other series.
