Biography
Smaïn, born Smaïn Fairouze on 3 January 1958 in Constantine, Algeria, is a French actor and humourist of Algerian descent. Adopted by a French family, he was raised in Paris and began performing in café-théâtre venues in the 1980s.
He achieved success with one-man shows including A star is beur (1986) and Comme ça se prononce (1996). His film roles include appearances in La Smala (1984), L'Œil au beur(re) noir (1987) and Three Lives and Only One Death (1996), in which he played Luca. He co-directed and starred in Les Deux Papas et la Maman (1996).
