Biography
Sophie Lorain is a Canadian actress, director and producer. She trained at the Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in England and the Théâtre Français de Toronto. She is the daughter of actors Jacques Lorain and Denise Filiatrault and the sister of actress Danièle Lorain.
Lorain is known for television roles including appearances in Scoop (1992), Omertà, la loi du silence (1996), for which she received a Gemini Award for best supporting actress, and as Anne Fortier in Fortier (2000–2004), for which she won a Gemini Award for best actress in a dramatic series. Her film credits include The Barbarian Invasions (2003) as First Lover and Mambo Italiano (2003) as Pina Lunetti.
She has also directed films such as Heat Wave (2009) and Slut in a Good Way (2018), and is married to director and cinematographer Alexis Durand-Brault.
