Biography
Sophie Leigh Stone is an English stage and television actress. Born in Stepney, London, she has been deaf since birth and was the first deaf student to win a place at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), having attended Mary Hare Grammar School for the Deaf.
She is known for playing Cass in the Doctor Who episodes "Under the Lake" and "Before the Flood" (2015), Princess Alice in The Crown (2016), and Louise in Two Doors Down. Since 2022 she has played forensics officer Ashley Wilton in the Acorn TV series The Chelsea Detective.
Stone has also appeared in Midsomer Murders, Shetland, Casualty and Shakespeare & Hathaway - Private Investigators, and in theatre productions including at the National Theatre.
