Biography
Soussan Farrokhnia is an actor, director and drama teacher. She holds a BA in Theatre Studies from the University of Tehran (1968–1972), an MA in Theatre Techniques and Aesthetics from the University of Paris VIII (1977–1978) and a Diploma in Theatre from the Jacques Lecoq International Drama School in Paris (1978–1980). Her career spans Iran, France and the United Kingdom, with work in theatre, film and radio.
She is co-founder and artistic director of the Saam Theatre Company and president of LIICA (London Independent Iranian Community Artistes). Farrokhnia appeared as Mrs. Fakur in the 2016 film Under the Shadow. Other screen credits include The Bitter Tears of Zahra Zand (2025) and the short films The Quail (1970) and And Granny Would Dance (2024).
