Biography
A. Sreekar Prasad, also credited as Akkineni Sreekar Prasad or Sreekar Prasad, is an Indian film editor. He was born on 12 March 1963 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He trained under his father, the editor and director Akkineni Sanjeevi, and is a graduate in literature from the University of Madras. He is the nephew of filmmaker L. V. Prasad.
Prasad began his career in Telugu cinema and made his debut as an independent editor on the Hindi film Raakh (1989). Over more than 35 years he has edited over 600 films across Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and other languages. His credits include Dil Chahta Hai (2001), Aśoka (2001), Guru (2007), Talvar (2015), Hindi Medium (2017), Super 30 (2019), Shershaah (2021), RRR (2022) and Devara: Part 1 (2024).
He has received nine National Film Awards, including seven for Best Editing, and has been recognised in the Limca Book of Records for his contributions to Indian cinema in multiple languages.
