Biography
Stan Margulies was an American film and television producer. He was born on 14 December 1920 in New York City and died on 27 February 2001 in Los Angeles.
Margulies began his career in publicity and worked as a production aide on Spartacus (1960). He produced the feature films Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines (1965) and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971), as well as the television miniseries Roots (1977), The Thorn Birds (1983) and The Jacksons: An American Dream (1992). He received three Primetime Emmy Awards, for Roots, Roots: The Next Generation (1979) and Separate But Equal (1991).
