Biography
Stanislas Merhar is a French actor. Born on 23 January 1971 in Paris, he studied piano for five years at the École Normale de Musique de Paris before working in gilding. He was discovered during a casting session for Anne Fontaine's Dry Cleaning (1997) and received the César Award for Most Promising Actor for his performance.
Merhar appeared as Albert de Morcerf in the television adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo (1998). He played Simon in Chantal Akerman's The Captive (2000). His later credits include Rogue City (2020), Madame (2017), Liaison (2023) and Bonnard, Pierre and Marthe (2024).
