Biography

Stanley Cheung Sai-Kit is a Hong Kong costume designer and art director, also credited as Cheung Sai-Kit and Stanley Cheung. Born in Hong Kong with ancestral roots in Nanchang, Jiangxi, he studied tailoring at a local fashion design school and completed a night course in interior design at Hong Kong Polytechnic. His elder brother, art director and costume supervisor Cheung Sai-hung, introduced him to the film industry; he began as an assistant art director on Fa Nei Qing (1988) and received his first costume design credit on Wu Sangui yu Chen Yuanyuan (1992).

Cheung has worked on more than sixty films and numerous television series, with frequent collaborations on Hong Kong productions including several Milkyway Image films such as Election (2005), Exiled (2006), Mad Detective (2007) and Vengeance (2009). He has also designed for mainland Chinese features and series, including the Detective Chinatown films. He won Golden Horse Awards for Best Costume and Makeup Design for The Bullet Vanishes (2012) and Detective Chinatown (2015), and has been nominated six times at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
