Biography
Stephen Jackson is a cinematographer and lighting technician, also credited as Steve Jackson. He began his career in lighting shortly after school, touring with bands and dance companies, and worked at lighting rental houses from 1981. His first film credits as best boy came on the Canadian feature The Grey Fox (1982) and First Blood (1982). He became a gaffer in 1987.
Jackson worked extensively as a gaffer and chief lighting technician on feature films including Little Women (1994), Fear (1996), Bird on a Wire (1990), The Fly II (1989), Final Destination (2000), Freddy vs. Jason (2003), Underworld: Evolution (2006) and Trick 'r Treat (2007). From around 2000 he moved into cinematography, serving as director of photography on the television series Once Upon a Time (2011–2016) for 104 episodes.
